30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Twenty one:
I am thankful for the weekends.  It has been FOREVER since Steven and I have both had the same two days off.  I love spending the time together as a family.  I love every second of our weekends together.  I wish we could work the two days and have off the five, sounds great right?!  Thanks weekends, for coming back into our lives, you can stay awhile if you'd like!

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Twenty:
I am thankful for my key fob.  Unlocking your car using just a button on the door is the greatest thing ever.  And now that we have a child, it makes it even cooler.  My hands are always full, but if you have the key with you, then BAM!  Push the button and you are in!  Thanks Nissan, for the best feature a car could have.

Day Nineteen:
I am thankful for iPhones (smart-phones in general).  I like having the world at my hands literally.  You can look up anything, anytime.  I love apps.  iPhones makes life simple.  iPhone, I might die without you, and what did I do before you????

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Eighteen:

I am thankful for T.V. (and DVR)!  I will admit, I am a TV junkie.  Now that Chloe's her my TV viewing has moved to a snails pace.  However, I DVR many shows and try to watch when I can.  It just is so relaxing to me to lay on the couch and drift off to T.V. land where they have LOTS going on and I don't!  And DVR is just awesome.  I never watch commercials anymore!  Thanks TV for always being there <3.

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Sixteen:

I am thankful for my house.  It was our first grown-up thing to do, and we bought it together.  Our first step in married life.   It needed and needs improvements, but it's ours.  We have started a family here, put roots down.  I love our house.

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Fifteen:

I am thankful for my job.  I had always wanted to be a teacher (except when I wanted to be a cashier at the grocery store, I guess I realized I had more potential).  So now I am a teacher and it is all that I thought it was.  I love it.  I love the kids, the teaching, the learning..all of it.  I am so lucky to have sweet kids each year (give or take a few), and an amazing educational assistant.  She helps my class run so smooth and gives so much to our class.  And the friendships I have made with my coworkers.....perfect.  I love them.  They make each day more and more fun.  Being a teacher is all I have ever wanted to do, so I'm doing it!  Go me!

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Fourteen:
I am thankful for my best friend Amanda.  Just recently have I found this new friendship.  I am glad.  I must say, I was pretty sure Amanda didn't like me, she just had to pretend because our husbands are such close friends.  I guess I was wrong.  I am not sure what life would be like without her.  She has been so supportive through the very hard last two years of life.  She has cried with me, laughed with me, and celebrated with me.  She showers me with love, gifts, support, advice and kind words.  She is a great source of information and a wonderful role model of a mom.  She is beautiful on the inside and out.  I am so lucky to have her in my life.  Thanks Amanda, for being you.  You really are special to me.

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Thirteen:
I am thankful for my best friend Jenny.  We have know each other since 2nd grade (we played "teacher" together), then I went to a different elementary so we didn't meet up again until middle school and well lets just say she was a bit to "popular" to be my friend!  Ha!  Little did she know she was stuck with me!  High school reclaimed our friendship.  We spent every moment we could of our senior year together.  We planned to go to college together and be roommates (I chickened out).  Jenny is so funny.  I always laugh...ALOT when I am with her.  But she is so understanding and gives amazing advice as well.  She gets me and I like to think I get her.  We just work.  Even though we are far apart (distance wise), our friendship holds strong.  Jen- you are a huge part of my life and I hope that you know that.  You rock!

Day Twelve:

I am thankful for my best friend Lindsay.  We have been close friends since high school (so about 12 years)!  Lindsay has the most kind heart.  You really can't be unhappy around her.  She is such a loyal and true friend.  She is so much fun to be around, she always makes me laugh.  Lindsay always has your back.  I am so glad that our kids are only 6 weeks apart, we get to be mommies together!  Lindsay, you're the best and I love you!

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Eleven:

I am thankful for my best friend Alexis.  I just recenlty wrote a post about her, so here it is again...

"Twenty and a half years ago, I met my best friend.  We lived on the same street during our entire childhood.  We had our ups and downs, but never let each other slip away.  We called each other "street friends", but it was so much more. Alexis has been there...always.  No matter the distance, no matter the age, no matter the time of day; she is there.  Nothing could mean more to me."

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Ten:

I am thankful for adoption.  Adoption is what created my family.  Families come together in many different ways.  I just never thought mine would be created through adoption.  Now, I can see it was the greatest gift.  My journey to a family is a unique experience that only Steven and I share.
 I <3 Adoption!

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Nine: "A" (Chloe's Birth mother)

I am thankful for "A".  I think that Chloe is lucky to have two mom's.  Her birth mother and myself.  I really don't that thankful is a big enough word or feeling to express my feelings toward this young woman.  I owe her everything.  She made my dream a reality, I'm Chloe's mother because of "A".  I think about her often and love sending her pictures and updates on Chloe.  I hope she enjoys receiving them as much as I enjoy sending them.  I really hope that I do a good job of teaching Chloe who "A" is and what she means to our family.  She made the biggest, loving decision anyone could make.  "A", I will forever be thankful for the gift you have given my family.

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Eight: Bailey
I am thankful for my sister-girl Bailey.  She came to our house "just until we found her owners."  We are now her owners.  Bailey is a crazy, crazy dog.  However, I love the crazy that is Bailey.  It brings more life to our house and provides a good laugh always.  She doesn't play with toys and would rather chase her tail.  She is scared to death of everything!  She jumps at the door over and over until she gets to go out, just to turn around to come back in.  She loves everything and everyone, she even doesn't mind to much when Chloe pulls her fur.  Bailey loves to give kisses, and I'll take them all.  Bailey girl, you are one precious girl!

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Seven: Chip

I am thankful for my buddy Chip.  He was our only child for a few years.  I think he misses those years sometimes!  He is such a funny boy.  He loves walks, car rides, and visiting with his Grammy/Poppy.  He rips open toys and spreads the stuffing everywhere!  He barks when we come home, even though it's so annoying, a part of me loves it because he loves me THAT much.  He loves his parents and could really do without his two sisters.  I could write pages about how much I love this little pup, but he knows it (and he can't read!) Chippy-Do, I love you! XOXO.

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Six: The Oglesby's

I am thankful for my brother, sister-in-law and nephew. My brother is so smart, seriously he knows just about everything I'm pretty sure.  You defiantly want to be on his team when playing games such as Trivial Pursuit.  He is a wonderful big brother and has given me so many fun, fond memories of growing up.  I really admire him.  My sister-in-law is amazing.  She has the biggest, kindest heart.  I have know her since I was 13, so really just feels like a sister minus the in-law part.  She is so fun to be around and obviously beautiful!  My nephew, Layden is simply wonderful.  He gives the cutest smiles and the best snuggles.  In just this first year of his life, he has brought joy to our family.  I am so thankful that these folks are my family.  Love them!

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Five:  My Sister

I am thankful for my sister.  She's pretty awesome, too bad she lives 2.5 hours away.  I can honestly say that for the majority of childhood she drove me nuts.  It was a love/hate relationship.  Now that she doesn't play the piano while I watch T.V. or still my stereo without asking, it's just a love relationship!  She is super fun to be around and go on trips with.  She has an amazing personality, she's loud, funny and lovable.  I'm so glad to have a big sister.  Thanks Nora, for being you.  You Rock!

Day Four: My Dad

I am thankful for my dad.  He is the worlds best cook.  Not only does he fill my belly, he fills my soul.  He loves so deeply.  I really feel like I can do nothing wrong in his eyes.  He is so supportive of everyone.  He has kind words for everyone and is always there to lend a hand.  He has the postive out look on everything even when no one else can see it.  One of the the things I cherrish most is all of the laughs he has to give.  He always has a new joke or funny story.  You just can't be down when you are around my dad.  Dad, I love you!

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Three: My Mom

I am thankful for my mom.  She is more then just my mom.  She is my best friend.  I call to tell her everything.  I ask her advice for everything.  I admire her.  I think as a kid I wrote a paper about her being my hero, and that is still true.  She loves me so incredibly much (even after parenting me through those teenage years, sorry mom!)  She is supportive, kind, caring, giving, loving, understanding, smart, beautiful; everything you could want a mom to be, she is.  Seeing her with Chloe is the best, because the love she gives is just amazing.  I know that I will be an amazing mom because I learned from the best.

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day Two: C

I am thankful she is my daughter.  I never knew what love could be.  It is so deep, unconditional and
real.  She is why I do what I do.  I live every second for her.  Steven told me that C is going to feel so special because the way we are with her, is like no other parent/child relationship he knows.  I agree.  She makes me want to do better, be better, love deeper and live completely.  Thank you C.  I love you.

30 Days of Being Thankful

Day One: Steven

I am thankful for the man I call my husband.  The daddy to my daughter.  Steven is definitely one-of-a-kind!  His beautiful blue eyes and incredible smile light up the room and he is always the “life” of the party!  There are so many words that I can use to describe him: intelligent, funny, outgoing, creative, Mr. fix it, loving, thoughtful… really the list is never-ending.    Steven is an amazing husband, daddy, uncle, brother, son, grandson, nephew, and friend.  I am one lucky lady!
